A Broken Trash Can – Things I Learned This Week

Things I learned this week.  This week was filled with all kinds of new things… from how to throw away a trash can to Cinnamon Toast Crunch for lunch to genetic testing and blood transfusions… let’s see if I can remember them all…

  1. To get the trash truck to take a trash can that is broken… stick it at the curb with nothing in it.  It has only been sitting out there for three months with trash in it and they hadn’t taken it.  Guess, it was obvious I wanted it taken when it was empty.  Go figure.

  3. Sometimes you gotta know when to hold them, and no when to fold them.  The twins are officially back in Goodnights at nights.  I just can’t handle the extra laundry from accidents.  We are going to wait until the Hubs is back to normal and then try night potty training again.

  5. When patients have surgery and they might have cancer, just recently doctors have discovered that there is a better prognosis if they do NOT give you blood transfusions, and instead let your body replenish its own blood.  How interesting is that?

  7. Sometimes, you have to put your big girl panties on and kill the big spiders.  There was one the size of a VW Beetle in the basement.  I was afraid to hit it with a shoe… it was big enough to grab the shoe and hit me back with it.  Never fear… organic bug spray with a long-range squirter to the rescue.  I killed the sucker from 5 feet away and was darn proud of myself too.

  9. Sometimes, you just need Cinnamon Toast Crunch for lunch.  Just sayin’.

  11. When the fridge makes funny noises, be prepared to buy a new one.  Of course, that was two days ago.  And just tonight I realized things weren’t as cold as they should be.  Thank God I don’t have a lot of food in the fridge and freezer because I need to go to the store.

  13. They can send a cancerous mass for genetic testing and then let us know if there is cause for worry with the kids.  How cool is that?

  15. Sometimes, you have to ask for help.

  17. Sometimes, the people that keep you most sane when the going gets tough are the ones you have never met in person.

  1. I just want you to know that I love you honey! All these obstacles and crap you are going through are just going to make you a stronger, kick ass woman. And Cinnamon Toast Crunch should be a lunch staple—at least once a week. ;)

  2. OH SHIT….I am crying from another blog, just stopped and now I am crying again woman. ….*blows nose* okay, Good for you for killing that evil spider and yes, asking for help makes you stronger babe, not weaker.

  3. The trash can had me cracking up. Certainly not something you’d ever think of. How does one throw a trash can away? Your way was much smarter than mine. I would have either broke it up and put it in a new can, or put a sign on it that said, “Take the @%$# can!” Which wouldn’t help, seeing as how an arm comes off the truck to pick up the can, and I don’t think it can read.
Gotta say, your humor has a little added (dare I say, violent) kick when you are stressed/worried. a spider big enough to take the shoe and hit you with it? Ha!
Did you eat the whole box of CTC in one sitting? Sometimes ya just gotta have that, too. Just saying. :)
I am praying for you and your family and everyone else who has anything to do with helping you all through this difficult time.
