When we were pregnant with the twins—okay, when my husband was gloating and I was miserable on bed rest—people kept giving us parenting advice. Sleep now, you won’t sleep when they get here. (Obviously, THEY have never been on bed rest with not much else to do.) Buy multiples of everything—clothes, bottles, blankets, pacifiers. After all, you are having two.Shouldn’t you be eating for three?Should you be eating that much?Is that Pepsi healthy for you?I could go on and on. Trust me, I know they meant well. But, some of the stuff still cracks me up. My absolute favorite was…

As an accountant, I am always a week behind the rest of the world. Month end occurs the first week of the month—this is when we complete our closing tasks and finalize the financial statements. So, invariably, my calendar is never switched to the correct month until the second week into the current month. I tell you this because I am still sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out where July went. Woosh. It was gone. There were four and a half weeks in July… down the drain. I’m working on month close again… I swear I just…

So, I am sitting here at lunch writing a couple of blog posts and a pending comment popped up… I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award! Woo hoo! Thank you so much Jenille! You can check out her awesome blog Beyond the Yellow Brick Road. I’m so excited because I have seen this award on other blogs and was hoping I would win! The award is given to upcoming bloggers with less than 200 followers. “Liebster” is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. You know how when you are pregnant, you read all those parenting books and they go on and on about the diaper bag? What to pack. To always be prepared. To be the Boy Scout of Babyhood. I started to panic. I was having two babies… doesn’t that mean I have to pack double?! Oh, hindsight is 20/20. So, while lying on my right side on complete bed rest, I went on a mission to find the perfect diaper bag. Roomy enough for everything. Classy enough to carry. Light enough to carry with two car seats. Large enough to carry…

I have a very serious addiction. I thought I would come clean for the world to see. I. AM. ADDICTED. TO. PINTEREST. Majorly. I’m checking it out every chance I get. I’m not like the others that claim to be addicted. I actually do make the things I pin– cards, scrapbook pages, recipes. So, is that really an addiction? Isn’t that… ummmmm…research? Right. That’s it. Research. I used to have a paper addiction. I had scrapbook paper stashed everywhere– I would buy it everytime I would be in a craft store or scrapbook store. Whether I had plans to use…

For the kids’ third birthday, my husband wanted to buy them a couple (!) of those Power Wheel things– you know, the battery operated Jeeps or whatever that they can drive around. I finally convinced him it was a waste of money, because they wouldn’t get that much use out of them.He then decided we should get them Big Wheels. I threw a fit at that too and suggested bicycles with training wheels.I won the argument, thank goodness.A couple of weeks before their birthday, we took them to Wal-mart to buy their helmets and bicycles. Morgan picked out a kitty…

When I was growing up, every Friday night was movie and pizza night. When dinner was over, Jeff and I would bring our blankets and pillows downstairs and sprawl out on the floor to watch whatever movies we had gotten at the video store. We would watch movies until we fell asleep on the floor– and would stay there all night “camping in.” Yesterday afternoon, I decided this would be fun to start with the twins. They talk about camping and always want to sleep in the living room… so, it was time to pass on the tradition. I spread…
