Continue ReadingToday’s Throwback Thursday post is from four years ago. The kids have graduated to more advanced video games, but we still play Mario. Most Friday nights you can find all four of us sitting on the couch playing a rough game of Mario Kart or Mario Party – complete with intentional crashes and claims of cheating. As cute as their Mario and Luigi phase was, thankfully we do not have to call them that anymore. And, no one (including me) yells out Mama Maria anymore.

Continue ReadingI love fresh strawberries and fresh blueberries. I am always trying to find new ways to use them. Last year, while in Amish Country, I bought a doughnut baking pan at Lehman’s. Brought it home and promptly forgot about it. I came across it the other day and thought… hmmmm… strawberry donuts. So, today’s recipe is Baked Whole Wheat Strawberry Donuts. Reminiscent of my whole wheat blueberry muffin recipe, it makes a quick breakfast or a delicious treat. While not on the low end of the SmartPoints(tm) scale, it is a nice treat and a somewhat healthier splurge.
