To celebrate Creamette Pasta’s 100th Anniversary, I made one of my favorite comfort-food recipes to share… tuna noodle casserole.  I used Creamette Pasta’s Tuna Noodle Casserole with Potato Chip Topping and adapted it for my family’s tastes… which means, I added cheese or no one would have eaten it.  The recipe below is the actual recipe, but then I mixed in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese before baking it.

  1. Some people think this is gross but my brother and I loved this growing up and still do today. There are never any leftovers when I make this for my family. This recipe comes out of the Depression era. My great-grandmother had so many mouths to feed and needed something cheap and easy. This is super cheap and couldn’t get any easier. Thanks Granny!

    Fried Macaroni

    1lb ground hamburger
1 package of Creamette elbow macaroni
1/4 tsp of oil – I prefer to use Canola

Brown the hamburger in a skillet. Boil the package of macaroni. When macaroni and hamburger are done, combine the two in the skillet. Add in the oil. Fry the mixture on med heat until the desired crispyness is achieved. Season to taste.

My husband originally didn’t like this because it is a little plain. He added in vegetables & cheese.

  2. My favorite to eat with it is shrimp, cucumbers and italian dressing—pasta salad
