Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 101
I probably shouldn’t claim that this is volume 101… this is only like my 5th or 6th Hodgepodge. But, it is easier to keep track of on my post lists. So, it is the 101st Hodgepodge for the blogging world… But, I digress… onto this week’s questions…
1. What rule of life should never be broken?
Definitely the Golden Rule– Do unto others as you want done onto you. Or, as my dad would put it… don’t treat people bad, they will treat you bad. I seriously think it is something that should be taught from birth, in schools, and at home– not just in religious settings. Unfortunately, it seems today the only place people get exposed to the principle is at Church.
2. What’s your favorite family recipe?
Hands down… my Grandma’s Apple Dumpling Recipe.
3. Is the media manipulative?
Yes. ‘Nuff said.
4. Hubs and I saw Skyfall last weekend…are you a fan of the Bond films? If so, who’s your favorite Bond?
I am not a big fan of Bond films. I remember watching a lot of the older ones with my dad growing up. I think my favorite is From Russia with Love.
5. What is one thing you hope people never say about you?
That I am superficial. I try to be my authentic self at all times. I don’t want people to think I am an imposter or a fake.
6. What’s a nearby tourist attraction you’d like to see, but haven’t gotten around to visiting?
Okay… this is just funny. We live really close to this castle… not a castle in the truest sense, but more of a Gothic mini-mansion. A judge moved his family from Cincinnati up to Logan County and built this beautiful home. When his kids grew up, they built their own houses nearby… these are called the Piatt Castles. This is practically in my back yard… and I have never been there.
7. Where’s your favorite tree?
I love dogwoods in bloom and maples in the fall.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I have this person that I am trying to get to leave me alone and I am at a loss. She totally isn’t taking the hint. I have even been blunt with her and she won’t get it.
Funny that people rarely visit the attractions in their own backyard. I grew up in Canton, Ohio, home of the NFL Hall of Fame. I never stepped foot in the building until a few years ago.
Now get to those mansions and tell me how you like them. We just may head on over for a tour.
Have you ever been to the Ohio Caverns? If you haven’t, that is definitely someplace to take your kids too! Super cool… AND right down the road from the Piatt Castles AND my house. 🙂 And, yes I have been there.
Visiting today from Wednesday’s Hodgepodge 🙂 I love your header especially the nap sneaker part. That is great!
Don’t feel bad. I live in South Florida and if I make it to the beach once a year it’s a miracle. I guess we take those places for granted because we assume they’ll always be there. Sorry about the person that doesn’t take a hint. That can be pretty awkward.
Have a blessed day!
I agree with you on #1. Think of how much nicer the world would be if more people practiced that! I’ve never heard of the castles but they sound interesting. You don’t see too many castles in America!
Isn’t it funny how the spots that are closest to us are the hardest to visit? It usually takes someone visiting me, to get me planning a day trip somewhere close by. 🙂
Does your “friend” ready your blog? I suppose if she does, she still won’t get the hint! Ha! I think in our lives we have all had a similiar situation. It’s difficult especially because of your answer to #1…right? Ha! I guess the best thing is to be kind, but stay busy, and perhaps she will find another friend to hang on to too much!!?
No, she thinks it is a stupid waste of time. Nice friend, huh?
It is strange that people don’t get the hint that you don’t want to be friends or that you don’t want to “hang out” – even when honest and blunt. It makes you wonder “why???”
I hope the person you are wanting to leave you alone does it, and soon! That’s never an easy situation. I enjoyed visiting your Hodgepodge and hope you have a good rest of the week.
