Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 164
It’s Wednesday Hodgepodge time! Read on to find out what I will never forget about being 35, what chore I have never, ever, ever done (and I am proud of it!), and what food I love to eat on a stick. Also, please take a look at my post from yesterday and share on social media. This is an important issue that needs to be shared with all!
Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 164
1. What is something you’ll never forget about the age you are right now?
I would have to say that this was the year I grew into myself. I stopped worrying about what other people think or do. I realized I can only change myself and not anyone else. I’m who I am and I am comfortable with myself. I don’t have to prove myself to anyone. (Yes, rather deep on a Wednesday.)
2. What’s a household chore you’ve never done? How have you managed that???
Washed the windows on the outside of either of the houses we have lived in. I have managed that very carefully… LOL. And, actually, I just don’t care. The rain will get it.
3. Does nature shape our personalities more than nurture? Explain?
I think it is both. Having twins, I have read studies where twins have been raised apart, yet still have similar personalities. Then again, I think outside influences – parents, schools, church – also influences the personality. So, both are a large part of our personality. Does that make sense?
4. Friday (February 28th) is ‘Something on a Stick Day’…funny because Zoanna over at A Penchant for Pens recently sent me an idea for a question relating to this topic. What’s your favorite food eaten on a stick?
Like a Jalapeno on a Stick?! LOL. Sorry, bad Jeff Dunham reference. Hmmmm. I would have to say a corn dog. One from the county fair. With thick cornbreading and smothered in Ketchup. Yum.
5. Which of your five senses do you treasure most, and why?
Definitely my sight. I have often wondered what would happen if I had ever lost my sight. I love to read and look at nature… without my sight, I think I’d be lost.
6. What’s the best music, theater, or sporting venue you’ve been to? What made it great?
Definitely Heinz Field to see the Pittsburgh Steelers play. It was just an amazing trip and one that I will remember forever and ever. We sat really close to the field with some amazingly fun fans. Then, went back the next day for a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium. Super awesome.
7. It’s the last week of the month…in five words or less bid adieu to your February.
You are out of here!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Normally, I wax poetic on something here that is going on in my life. You know, something that makes me go “Hmmmmm.” But, today I am asking you to read and share a post that I wrote yesterday on Newborn Health. Over 6 million children die around the world prior to their 5th birthday of preventable deaths. So, I am asking you – please read my post, share it on social media, and go read the Save the Children report (it’s not that long.) See what we are doing to become the generation that ends preventable deaths in children.

Hi! So fun to see you on the Hodgepodge! You are right – newborn death rates are WAY too high for the education we now have all over the world… thank you for sharing about this important issue!
I think I’ve only had a corndog once or twice but it was good. I did read your other post and it is great that you are involved with something so important like that.
My hubs took me to get a corndog on our first date. He couldn’t believe I’d never had one!
