Blogger to WordPress and Back

Julia

Did you all miss me yesterday when the blog was down for a few hours?  Did you even notice?  LOL.

I got a burr in my hair and decided I was going to move from Blogger to WordPress.  I purchased my host and installed the WordPress plugin.  Eventually, I figured out how to point my domain to something or other and the website was working.

Then it stopped.

I cussed.  I screamed.  I cried.

I emailed the host, took down my WordPress page and came crawling back to Blogger.

I am too busy to mess with a blog that doesn’t require coding… but, in actuality, does…

Change this file.  Change this folder to this root.

I couldn’t get my page set up the way I wanted.  I didn’t like my sidebar.  I didn’t like the plugins.

So, this busy momma is back to Blogger.

And, for now… I am here to stay.

I very nearly did the same thing on Tuesday…but don’t have the time to fuss with more than I am already fussing with!

Glad to know I am not the only one. I have threatened it multiple times over the last three years but, like you, end up wanting to smash my computer into a bazzilliontrillionelevntythousand smitherines and then dump bleach on it and possibly set it on fire.

Oh…you weren’t quite that dramatic about it, were you…

I moved to wordpress and got worried but it;s not too bad. I do wish I had a little more control over my site seeing as how I paid for the domain.

Hi! I found you from the bloggymom blog hop.

I’m scared to move to wordpress. I might have to do it at some point, but for now I’m happy with blogger. I am a newbie so code and all that talk makes my eyes start to cross.

I’ve been considering the switch to WordPress, but didn’t know if it would be worth the trouble. So your post was kind of good for me to hear right now! I see many very successful blogs on blogger, so I’m sticking with it (at least for now!)
