Easy Apple Crisp
Ingredients
- 6-7 medium apples Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix.
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tbs lemon juice
- 2 Tbs all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup brown sugar light or dark
- 1 cup old fashioned oats quick oats can be used, but it may have a different texture
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ cup cold, unsalted butter cut into small cubes
Method
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Butter an 9 x 9" baking dish, or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Peel, core, and slice apples into thin wedges.
- In large bowl toss apple wedges with lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter, two forks, or your fingers until mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
- Cool slightly before serving.
