Is Fall here?
Today I woke up with a chill in the air. It wasn’t cold enough for a coat, but I put on “regular” shoes today and not dress shoes.
My favorite time of year is fall. I love the crispness in the air, the pumpkins, the leaves changing, the mums, the crops being harvested… all of it. So, today I am throwing it out to my readers… (don’t lurk, comment!)
What is your favorite thing(s) about autumn?
I love fall! It’s the smells in the crisp, cool air. The sense of settling down in anticipation of a long, winter rest. Riding weather, I call it. The very best time to saddle up and disappear for hours at a time down long, winding, leaf-strewn roads. Sigh. The only thing I don’t like about fall? It brief, fleeting nature. Here in Canada, we’re lucky to get four weeks before the snow flies. But then maybe that’s why it’s so much more precious . . . 🙂
Wow… Only 4 weeks! I would hate that!
Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! I love the cooler weather, football, and knowing that the holidays are just around the corner. 🙂
I love Halloween and Thanksgiving… Even more than Christmas.
All you said plus fall brings on a new food menu, stews, pies (I remember your grandmothers pies) and more food (holiday type) and more food (football Sunday type). Need I go on. Oh yea, the colors since I like to do photography. Only issue with fall is what follows.
I remember the flaky crust… and the apple dumplings. Yummy. I told Morgan the other day that we were going to make apple dumplings when it got colder.
It is definitely fall here in Georgia. It was chilly this morning, so I’ll have to get my daughter and I a couple of hoodies. Caught us by surprise!
Fall has been my favorite time because of the change
in the colors of mother nature. I like the idea of open windows and still warm. love, Nana
I love getting out my sweaters and making hot cider with the kids! Crisp Fall days are my favorite! And the colors! 🙂
